Freac won't retain the gain setting either even though I have 'preserve replay gain settings' ticked in the tags tab. Using HE-AAC though, mp3 gain will not accept the AAC files. I am able to run the aac files (AAC-LC) through mp3gain to normalize the volume levels of all of the music files. I made the HE-AAC files but it did not retain the gain level settings.
